Commons | Riverfront Park

Located along the South Platte River in Denver, Colorado, Commons Park has a rich history and a mix of urban and natural views. On one side of the park, visitors can see native grasses and wetlands, while the other side offers views of downtown Denver skyscrapers. The intersection of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River has long been an important part of the Denver community. This was originally a gathering site for many Native American tribes before General Larimer bought the land from Chief Little Raven. In 1858, gold was discovered in the area, and then, in 1991, the Trillium Corporation bought the land and put in place a revitalization plan.
